Aena has announced the acquisition of 51% of the new holding company which both owns and manages 100% of Leeds Bradford Airport and 49% of Newcastle Airport.

The transaction, which has been valued at 270 million GBP, will see Aena reinforce its position within the UK market, where it already manages London Luton Airport with a 51% stake.

The deal will now see Aena manage over 26 million UK passengers

With both Leeds Bradford and Newcastle airports recording a combined 9.5 million passengers last year (approximately); Aena will manage a total of 26.5 million passengers in the UK when added to London Luton Airport’s 17 million.

Seller InfraBridge will continue to hold 49% of the new holding company, as well as act as the owner of the other 49% of Luton Airport whilst consolidating itself as Aena’s strategic partner in the UK with this transaction.

The final transaction is subject to conditions for its finalisation, including all regulatory approvals. It is expected to be fully completed during Q2 2026.
