Aurrigo International has opened its first operational office in the US at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).
The new facility, located within the Delta Cargo building, marks a key milestone for the company as it expands into the US market.
The office will support the deployment of Aurrigo’s Auto-DollyTug, a fully electric and autonomous tug designed to transport cargo and baggage around airport airside operations.
The vehicle offers significant cost savings, improved efficiency, and up to 60% carbon reduction compared to traditional diesel tugs.
The Auto-DollyTug combines the functions of a baggage tractor and airport dolly, increasing space efficiency and load capacity. It can tow four trailers carrying five Unit Load Devices (ULDs), providing a 30% increase in capacity over conventional setups of the same length.
The CVG office will be home to a new team, including Daniel Garcia Jr, Aurrigo’s first Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operator in the US. The company is actively recruiting additional staff, particularly those specialising in vehicle maintenance.
The new office is strategically positioned to support the initial deployment at CVG while exploring further opportunities in the US market.
Professor David Keene, CEO of Aurrigo International said:This is a milestone moment for us in the United States, a vitally important market for our business and our global expansion.
The deal we signed in January to deploy Auto-DollyTug® at CVG has led to this dedicated office and new team. It will provide the team with ease of access to the initial deployment, while also providing the opportunity to move forward on other potential ventures stateside.
This project is currently in the setup and mapping phase, with full operations expected to begin soon.
Aurrigo’s technologies, including robotic arms that allow for autonomous loading and unloading of ULDs, promise to enhance operational efficiency and capacity at CVG, as well as other US airports in the future.
