Alstef has announced a tentative completion window for a major, multi-phase baggage handling system (BHS) upgrade at Adelaide Airport.

The upgrade, which is now slated to be completed by the end of 2025, will see the installation of five new Standard 3 X-Ray machines, the deployment of its BAGWARE software suite, and provisions for a future Early Bag Store (EBS) area.

Alstef was responsible for the airport’s original baggage handling system

Work on the upgrade began in August 2024, and is set to last 14 months in total with minimal disruptions to day-to-day operations at the airport.
