Beonic has partnered with Adelaide Airport (ADL) for the introduction of its AI-powered LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) technology, which aims to provide real-time visibility of passenger flow, queue performance and wait times.
The solution utilises LiDAR to provide real-time analytics from a captured 3D point cloud of the terminal environment without obtaining any personally identifiable information.

Billy Tucker, CEO of Beonic, said:As demand rises and traveller expectations evolve, Beonic is helping Adelaide Airport to focus on optimising the performance of key processing areas.
Our AI-powered platform provides the critical insights that will allow the airport to reduce bottlenecks, improve staffing decisions, and enhance the overall passenger experience.
The new system will provide insights across a number of metrics including queue occupancy and overflow, passenger throughput rates, emigration wait times, immigration and baggage reclaim.
Ben Leitis, Head of Terminal Operations at Adelaide Airport, said:When you’re responsible for the smooth movement of thousands of people each day, you need more than assumptions - you need live data.
Beonic’s technology gives our airport the visibility to make operational decisions with confidence based on real-time information. It empowers our team to make fast, informed decisions to manage flow in real time, keep queues moving, and maintain a seamless experience our travellers expect, even when conditions shift.
