Bournemouth Airport (BOH) has received planning approval for an enhancement of passenger facilities, including an extended terminal and new transport interchange.
The scheme, which forms part of both a phased and ongoing 50 million GBP investment by the airport, will create a minimum of 230 direct jobs, and see the arrivals and departures building extended and jointed into one modernised terminal.

The single terminal will feature enhanced baggage, security and passenger facilities installed in phases, as well as the implementation of a reconfigured transport interchange with access for buses, taxis, cyclists and pedestrians.
In addition, the airport has stated it will provide 500,000 GBP towards a new bus service connecting the local area, as well as 60,000 GBP for a staff travel scheme encouraging sustainable travel.
The airport will also provide shared electric bicycles and scooters from Beryl.
Plans for the enhancement were approved 8-1 by BCP Council’s eastern planning committee.
Steve Gill, Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport, said:This decision ensures Bournemouth Airport can continue to serve as a vital regional asset, creating jobs, supporting businesses, and delivering connectivity for the future.
It allows us to invest in the facilities, services, and infrastructure needed to support growth sustainably, while providing a first-class experience for passengers.
