Bye Aerospace and Electro.Aero have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly develop portable fast-charging solutions for electric aircraft.
The agreement was made at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025 airshow and focuses on supporting the deployment of Bye Aerospace’s eFlyer aircraft in the pilot training sector.

The partnership aims to address infrastructure requirements for electric aircraft, particularly in high-utilisation training environments where quick turnaround times between flights are essential. Electro.Aero’s portable charging systems, which include 40kW, 80kW, and 240kW options, are designed to reduce downtime between sorties. The 240kW charger offers dual-cable functionality, allowing two aircraft to be charged simultaneously in under 30 minutes.
Bye Aerospace is currently constructing a full-scale prototype of its eFlyer 2 training aircraft at Centennial Airport in Colorado. The company intends to deliver a platform that is both economical to operate and well suited to the needs of flight schools and other fleet operators.
Rod Zastrow, CEO of Bye Aerospace, said:As we prepare for our full-scale prototype's inaugural flight, we're thrilled to partner with Electro Aero to demonstrate the operational utility our combined technologies will bring to this greatly underserved pilot training market. The pilot training industry needs—and we intend to deliver—disruptively less expensive aircraft to fly and operationally effective charging systems. We are thrilled to offer simultaneous, two-aircraft fast charging in under 30 minutes, which means our customers can finally meet the demanding pace of flight instruction with reliability, efficiency and drastically lower operating costs.
As electric aircraft begin to enter commercial service, the development of practical charging infrastructure will be a key enabler. This partnership between Bye Aerospace and Electro.Aero is intended to provide a complete solution that addresses both the aircraft and its energy supply requirements.
Joshua Portlock, CEO of Electro Aero, said:We at Electro.Aero are very pleased to partner with the industry's first mover in fixed-wing all-electric aviation. We envision our portable fast chargers helping generate the many all-electric eFlyer flights needed to increase the rate of pilot training output for airlines, business aviation, and other uses.
