CLEAR has launched a new line of biometric ‘eGates’ at Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) which aim to expedite passenger movement through security checks by reducing identity verification to less than five seconds.

The company has now begun accepting TSA PreCheck enrolment applications in Terminal 2, marking a key milestone for the airport’s overall modernisation.

The new eGates will allow CLEAR+ Members to bypass the standard TSA podium as vetting is instead moved to a digital solution.

Kyle McLaughlin, EVP of Aviation at CLEAR, said:

From enrolling in TSA PreCheck to verifying your identity in seconds with CLEAR’s new biometric eGates, travelers at Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) now have more ways than ever to breeze through security, especially ahead of the Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup.

It’s all part of CLEAR’s mission to deliver the most frictionless, modern travel experience – helping you win the day of travel.

The latest rollout of the eGates builds on the company’s previous installations at over 30 airports across the United States.
