The Danish State has completed its acquisition of Copenhagen Airports A/S following approval from the European Commission.
On 16 July 2025, the Commission cleared the State’s purchase of a controlling interest in the airport operator. With all conditions now satisfied, the transaction was finalised on 30 September 2025.

Through the Ministry of Finance, the Danish State now holds about 98.6 percent of Copenhagen Airports A/S. The remainder is largely owned by private minority shareholders.
Lars Nørby Johansen, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Copenhagen Airports A/S, said:We are pleased to secure an ownership structure which ensures that Denmark continues to have a strong international airport contributing significantly to the country’s global connectivity. As one of Denmark’s largest workplaces, it is crucial to have a responsible and long-term ownership group that guarantees the airport’s continued positive contribution to the Danish economy.
Copenhagen Airports A/S has announced that it will convene an extraordinary general meeting in the near future to elect new members to its board of directors.
