easyJet will open its new three-aircraft Newcastle base a week earlier than initially planned, with flights now available from 22 March 2026.

The new base will allow the airline to expand its Newcastle network with the addition of 11 new routes, totalling 19 routes across the UK, Europe and North Africa.

New services from Newcastle next summer will include flights to Antalya and Dalaman, Rhodes and Corfu, Faro, Malta, Prague, Reus and an exclusive route connecting Newcastle to Nice.

Direct connections will also operate connecting Newcastle to North Africa and provide services to Sharm-El-Sheikh and Enfidha in Tunisia.

Routes to Antalya and Enfidha will begin on 22 March, with routes to Malaga commencing 23 March, Nice and Dalaman 24 March and Alicante and Malta on 26 & 28 March respectively.

The flight schedule for Reus will resume on 31 March, and flights to Corfu will begin on 3 April.

easyJet’s service from Newcastle to Prague will begin operation from 2 August, with flights to Sharm El Sheikh beginning twice a week from 3 August.

Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation Development at Newcastle Airport, said:

It's fantastic that easyJet will open its base at Newcastle Airport ahead of schedule, with flights to 11 new destinations taking off earlier than planned, including a brand-new direct service to Nice.

This investment underlines easyJet’s long-term commitment to the Airport, delivering hundreds of thousands of additional low-cost seats and great-value package holidays for our passengers.

This also builds on the popular destinations the airline already serves, including Alicante, Amsterdam, Geneva, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Bristol and Belfast. We look forward to celebrating with easyJet when the new routes take off and to announcing even more exciting new destinations soon.
