Calgary Named Host For Air Cargo Industry’s Flagship Event

The World Cargo Symposium (WCS), organised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), will take place in Calgary, Canada from 9 to 11 March 2027. Described by IATA as the largest and most prestigious annual event in the air cargo industry, WCS moves to Canada following its 2026 edition in Lima, Peru, which drew nearly 1,200 delegates.

Calgary International Airport (YYC) sits at the centre of the host city’s aviation credentials. The airport supports more than 6,000 aviation related jobs and handles over 70 per cent of Alberta’s air cargo each year, positioning Calgary as a strategic North American gateway where air, rail and road networks converge.

Who Attends And Who Exhibits

WCS brings together senior figures from across the air cargo supply chain. Delegates typically represent airlines, airports, ground handlers, freight forwarders, GSA and GSSA firms, training providers and solution providers.
