Volkan has debuted its brand-new LION Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) at this year’s inter airport Europe exhibition in Munich.

Displayed in a colour scheme celebrating the exhibition; Volkan’s LION PHEV is the latest in the company’s line of firefighting vehicles.

The vehicle comes equipped with a 522 kW diesel engine, 280 kWh and a 280 kW electric motor.

Whilst in electric mode; the LION PHEV is capable of reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h and operates with a 35km range in low-emission zones. Electric mode also allows for  45 minutes of full pump capacity, with the vehicle able to perform routine daily check drives for up to 3 days without the need to recharge.

The vehicle is able to reach a speed of 80 km/h in 25 seconds, with a maximum speed of 145 km/h.
