Kansai Airports has announced that the grand opening of its newly renovated Terminal 1 building at Kansai International Airport (KIX) will take place on Thursday 27 March 2025.
The terminal has seen a redesign of the layout of both its international and domestic areas, additional security checkpoints and a selection of new retail offerings installed post passport control.
The renovation project first saw the opening of a new domestic area in October 2022

The renovation will allow KIX to comfortably handle up to 40 million international passengers, as well as a forecasted increase in traffic during the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo, with Kansai Airports aiming to deliver a more comfortable experience for travellers on all fronts.
