The project will support anticipated increases in air traffic while improving the overall travel experience for domestic passengers.

T2, which opened in October 2012, was Japan’s first terminal purpose-built for low-cost carriers. It currently serves all domestic flights operated by Peach Aviation Limited.

Renovation work is expected to begin in August 2025 and be completed by spring 2026.

Key features of the renovation include the introduction of ten self-bag drop units and the installation of three smart security lanes, each 20 metres long. In addition, the boarding area will be expanded by approximately 20 percent, and existing waiting and commercial areas will be refurbished.

The changes are designed to streamline passenger movement and encourage greater use of self-service options.
