Kromek’s Busy September

Kromek, the Country Durham-based developer and manufacturer of radiation detection equipment had a very busy September as the company exhibited its latest systems and products at three national and international exhibitions.

For the second year in a row, Kromek attended the Emergency Services Show in Birmingham on 20-21 September. The Kromek team was able to meet and engage with a wide range of front-line operators about the benefits of their small form and lightweight detectors and explain the advantages of their networked capability to the first responders and emergency services.

Kromek demonstrated both its radiological and biological capabilities. It was the first time that many European and worldwide CBRN specialists were able to see and handle the ground-breaking D5 RIID, the world’s smallest and lightest detector, with the ultimate radiation detection performance, currently available. There was also significant interest in Kromek’s novel bio-sequencer, which became one of the main topics of discussion among the delegates at the event. Like its radiation detection counterpart, the bio-sequencer impressed because of its ease of deployment and use.

And at the end of the busy month, the Kromek team exhibited at the International Security Expo at Olympia, London on 27-28 September, as part of the CBRN UK pavilion. At the ISE, Kromek met with members of the UK Home Office, Ministry of Defence and CBRN specialists within other government departments to brief on and enable them to handle the company’s wide range of handheld, wearable and static radiation detectors.

Reflecting on a busy month, Kromek’s CBRN Business Manager Craig Duff said:

“We have enjoyed showcasing our products to a wide range of global CBRN specialists and end-users. We have been able to demonstrate how innovative and agile our company is, with novel, ground-breaking and impressive products in both our radiological and biological detection divisions.”

Kromek’s representatives will be at a number of other national and international events during the remainder of 2022.
