JFK International Airport has announced the selection of both Menzies Aviation and Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) to deliver above the wing and below the wing ground handling services at the New Terminal One building.
Above the wing services provided will include guest and baggage check-in, operation of the baggage service office, meet and assist for arriving flights, and support during irregular operations; whilst below the wing services will include fully trained labour and aircraft servicing via the use of electric ground support equipment (eGSE).

A key component of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s 19 billion USD transformation of JFK Airport; the New Terminal One building will include two new terminals and see the modernisation and expansion of two existing terminals, the construction of a new ground transportation centre and a new simplified roadway network.
The two new terminals will field pooled eGSE, a first for any airport within North America and in-keeping with the Port Authority’s 2022 zero-emission airside vehicle rule, which requires all ground service equipment to transition to zero-emission alternatives by 2030.
Following their appointment after a comprehensive procurement process; both Menzies Aviation and WFS will receive an operational license and contract directly with airlines operating at the terminal.
Marisa Von Wieding, Vice President of Operations, The New Terminal One, said:The selection of Menzies Aviation and WFS reinforces our focus on building a terminal that sets new benchmarks for efficiency and passenger experience.
Together, we’re creating an operational framework that supports the needs of our global airline partners and the millions of passengers who will travel through the terminal each year.
Once completed; the New Terminal One will house airlines including Air France, KLM, Etihad, LOT Polish Airlines, Korean Air, EVA Air, Air Serbia, SAS, Neos, Philippine Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air New Zealand, Royal Air Maroc, Air China, China Airlines, Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, EGYPTAIR and China Eastern Airlines.
