The Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul has announced that work is now underway on the modernisation of Ogdensburg International Airport (OGS).
The project will include the expansion of the terminal lobby and the construction of a new entrance canopy, alongside other improvements.
This transformation is expected to enhance the passenger experience and drive economic growth by establishing OGS as a regional transportation hub that will attract new travellers to the North Country in New York state.
As a result of these benefits, the project is supported by 18 million USD from the Governor’s 230 million USD Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition.
Governor Kathy Hochul said:Our upstate airports are gateways that not only welcome travellers but also open the door to increased tourism and expanded opportunities for economic growth. Thanks to our Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Initiative, the Ogdensburg International Airport will get the improvements it needs to become a true, 21st Century travel destination that will attract new visitors and businesses to the North Country.
The modernisation project at Ogdensburg International Airport (OGS) has an estimated total cost of 21.5 million USD. It will:
