Mott MacDonald has been appointed to a consultancy framework established by Manchester Airports Group (MAG) to support capital investment programmes across its airports over the next five years.
Under the Capital Investment Consultancy Services Framework, the engineering and management consultancy will provide advisory, design and specialist technical services for projects at Manchester Airport, London Stansted Airport and East Midlands Airport.

MAG is entering a period of capital development aimed at modernising infrastructure, expanding operational capacity and improving resilience. The group is also progressing environmental targets, including an ambition to achieve net zero carbon operations by 2038. Its airports handled more than 54 million passengers in the past year and continue to play a role in regional economic activity and international connectivity.
Mott MacDonald’s appointment covers several service areas within the framework. The company will deliver project services in partnership with CPC Project Services, provide early-stage architectural design, and offer fire engineering consultancy. The combination of these services is intended to support coordinated planning and delivery of airport infrastructure schemes.
David Brown, client director at Mott MacDonald said:We are delighted to be appointed to this framework, which comes at a pivotal time for MAG as it advances its long term programme of investment. Our teams bring deep airport, infrastructure and operational expertise, and we look forward to working closely with MAG to help deliver projects that enhance capacity, resilience and the passenger experience while supporting the group’s sustainability ambitions.
Mott MacDonald has previously worked with MAG on a range of projects, including planning and design work linked to transformation proposals at Stansted, electrical substation upgrades at Manchester and East Midlands airports, and development of a cargo masterplan at East Midlands.
