New data published by NATS has shown that November 2025 saw a 3.4% increase in air traffic when compared to numbers from November 2024 – with just over 6,000 daily flights providing more than 180,417 total flights across UK airspace.
November’s biggest growth area was overflights (flights that travel through UK airspace without arriving at/departing from UK airports), which increased 16% when compared to 2024.

One route that contributed significantly was Ireland – Italy, which was up by 19% year-on-year.
Figures from Eurocontrol show that NATS attributable delay, excluding weather, saw an overall decrease of almost 10% when compared to the same period last year whilst handling 24% of all European traffic.
This month saw 99.7% of flights feature no NATS attributable delay.
Kathryn Leahy, Chief Operating Officer, said:November has continued to follow the trend of an increase year-on-year in air traffic across the UK. As our skies get busier, approaching the highs of pre-pandemic traffic levels, we continue to work with our European partners and make every effort to minimise disruption and delay.
Our priority is always getting passengers to their destinations safely.
