Beonic has formed a new partnership with Queenstown Airport (ZQN) for the delivery of a new AI-powered LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) system across five departure areas.

The system will allow for real-time visibility into the flow of passengers, queue performance and wait times in an aim to streamline airport operations during peak travel times.

The new technology uses AI to enhance LiDAR performance

Beonic’s technology utilises LiDAR in order to create a 3D model of the terminal, providing an opportunity to deliver real-time analytics without the capture of any personal information, as well as delivering performance metrics including queue occupancy, overflow, throughput rates and wait times.

Harald Kolodziej, VP Sales APAC & Head of Airports APAC at Beonic, said:

Weʼre excited to support Queenstown Airport in creating a smarter, more connected departure experience.

Our platform is built to empower airport teams with the data they need to act decisively, reduce bottlenecks, and maintain a consistently high level of service.
