Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) has announced that it has begun offering Early Bag Check, having started the initiative on Wednesday 11 February.

The service is operated by Bags, a Metropolis company, and allows passengers to check their luggage before arriving at the terminal – enabling a lighter trip.

The service launched on Wednesday 11 February

Currently, the service is available for passengers flying domestically on Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest and United services.

Early Bag Check counters can be found at the Rental Car Centre and East Economy Parking, and are open between 05:00 and 17:00, including holidays.

Passengers can also print their boarding passes at the Early Bag Check counters, and, depending on the airline, are able to check up to two bags per person.

The service, whilst free, will still see airline baggage fees apply. All bags must be checked at least 90 minute before scheduled departure and no more than four hours before the flight, per airline policy.
