Rolls-Royce has received an order for 20 A330neo aircraft from SAS, all of which will be powered by 40 Trent 7000 engines.
The transaction also includes purchase rights for 10 A33neo aircraft in a move that is expected to provide flexibility for the airline to realise future growth opportunities.

Rob Watson, President of Civil Aerospace, Rolls-Royce, said:We are delighted that SAS has made their first order for A330neo aircraft. This order reflects the strength of our technology and our valued partnership - especially meaningful as SAS marks its 80th anniversary this year — and we are proud to support SAS at this significant milestone in their journey.
The Trent 7000 delivers outstanding efficiency and sustainability benefits and SAS can be confident in the reliability and support for their fleet.
Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS, said:We are proud to announce our first order for the A330neo, marking an exciting new chapter for SAS. We look forward to welcoming this next-generation aircraft to our fleet and benefitting from the enhanced efficiency and environmental performance of the Trent 7000 engine.
This investment underlines our commitment to offer the most reliable and efficient service to our customers.
The A33neo/Trent 7000 combination aims to provide a 14% better fuel burn per seat than the previous generation whilst also lowering emissions, and with more than five million flight hours, the Trent 7000 draws on technology and experience from one of the most advanced families of engines in the world.
Based on Trent XWB technology, the engine is certified to operate on a 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend today and has been proven to be compatible with up to 100% SAF for the future.
