Royal Schiphol Group has announced that Chief Infrastructure Officer Sybren Hahn will retire from his post on 01 February 2026.
Since joining in 2021; Hahn has been responsible for the airport’s infrastructure, including its maintenance, improvement and renewal.

Sybren Hahn said:When I joined four years ago, it was essential to address maintenance backlogs, improve the reliability of projects at the heart of operations and build one integrated infrastructure organisation. I’ve greatly enjoyed working with colleagues and partners on initiatives such as better work and rest areas for baggage employees, a new passenger experience in Lounge 1, improved cleaning contracts and maintenance of several runways.
The new master plan provides clear direction, and for Infrastructure this means entering a new phase of large-scale construction projects. That requires someone with specific expertise, and I’m making room for that. Schiphol is never finished, but it is ready for the next phase.
Schiphol has stated that Hahn’s successor will be announced in due course.
CEO Pieter van Oord said:We would like to sincerely thank Sybren for his valuable contributions to Schiphol. He has played a crucial role in delivering improvements that benefit both efficiency and the experience of travellers and airlines. Under his leadership, significant work has been done to maintain and renew our infrastructure. The impact is visible in the terminal and on the runways. Sybren is a dedicated and respected colleague, and we wish him every success in his next adventure.
