The Salt Lake City Department of Airports has marked another milestone in its long-running redevelopment programme with the opening of ten new gates and six additional concessions at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).
The new facilities will support Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines operations.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on 28 October, represents a further step towards completing The New SLC project, which began five years ago.
Bill Wyatt, executive director, Salt Lake City Department of Airports said:We are getting close to the finish line. It has been five years since we launched The New SLC. With today’s ribbon cutting, we have introduced 10 more gates, six concessions and two new lounges that will elevate the traveller experience through our airport.
The new concession area spans 8,851 square feet and includes operators Hudson Group, Paradies Lagardère and TuGals. The new offerings include:
- Food and Beverage: Aubergine Kitchen and Moab Brewery, both Utah-based brands
- Retail, News and Gifts: Art of Aesthetics, Good Earth Market (a local retailer), Hudson, and Utah National Parks
The airport has also opened a third Sensory Room in Concourse B-West, designed to provide a calming space for passengers who benefit from a quieter environment. Additionally, Delta Air Lines has unveiled its second Sky Club, and American Express has opened a Centurion Lounge in the same concourse, featuring an outdoor terrace.
The New SLC Redevelopment Program began in July 2014. Phase 1 opened in September 2020, followed by Phase 2 in October 2023 and Phase 3 in October 2024. The final phase, comprising 11 gates and six more concessions, is scheduled to open in October 2026. When complete, the redevelopment will deliver a total of 94 aircraft gates and 101 concessions at a total cost of 5.1 billion USD.
