SANS extends partnership with Frequentis

SANS has renewed its long-term collaboration with Frequentis to continue enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the Kingdom’s air traffic communication systems through 2028.

The extended contract covers multiple operational sites, including Jeddah and Riyadh Area Control Centers, and ensures uninterrupted communication between air traffic controllers and pilots, a cornerstone of aviation safety and operational excellence across one of the busiest airspaces in the Middle East.

Building on a partnership spanning over a decade, Frequentis will continue to provide technical support, system optimisation, and lifecycle management for SANS’s voice communication systems (VCS). The cooperation supports SANS’s mission to maintain safe, efficient, and technologically advanced air navigation services in line with global aviation standards.

Fawaz Baroud, Managing Director of Frequentis Middle East, said:

The Jeddah and Riyadh ACCs host the largest VCS deployments in the region, serving as critical nodes in Saudi Arabia’s air traffic management network. We remain committed to supporting their performance and resilience over the coming years to ensure uninterrupted system performance and alignment with international aviation standards,
