Schiphol Airport has opened a brand new duty-free store, the largest on site and the flagship store of its new retail concept, ‘Today Duty Free’.
The 1,500 metre squared store aims to provide an updated take on the existing duty-free shopping concept with a tasting bar, self-checkouts and personal beauty advice.

The store is located in Lounge 1 and was envisioned as part of a collaboration between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Lagardère Travel Retail.
Arthur Reijnhart, Director of Schiphol Commercial, said:Today Duty Free sets a new retail standard for people travelling through Schiphol. Travellers get the best products, the best price and personal service. By combining comfort, quality and price advantage in one contemporary store, we're making shopping at Schiphol more attractive than ever.
The collaboration is the first between Schiphol and Lagardére Travel Retail following the announcement of their partnership earlier this year, and is in line with Schiphol’s aim to improve passenger experiences.
The airport is set to receive a number of other duty-free shops over the course of the next few months, all of which covering an area of 5,500 metres squared (20% of the airport’s retail area).
Lucio Rossetto, COO Europe at Lagardère Travel Retail, said:Together with our partners at Schiphol Airport, we are proud to deliver this first chapter of the refurbishment programme on schedule. The opening of Today Duty Free is a milestone in our shared ambition to elevate the travel retail experience. This flagship store is a tangible demonstration of the strength and quality of our collaboration and offers new possibilities for brand visibility at the airport.
We are pleased to contribute to this important moment for Schiphol Airport and are looking forward to more exciting new developments on the horizon.
