Smiths Detection’s hi-speed HI-SCAN 100100V-2is X-ray receives qualification on the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Air Cargo Screening Technology List
Smiths Detection, a global leader in threat detection and security screening technologies, has announced that its HI-SCAN 100100V-2is hi-speed X-ray model is its latest system to be qualified on the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Air Cargo Screening Technology List (ACSTL).
The ACSTL serves as TSA’s official guide for regulated parties to use when procuring screening devices. Devices deemed qualified, like Smiths Detection’s standard, and now its hi-speed model of HI-SCAN 100100V-2is, have undergone formalized TSA-sponsored test processes and meet the highest standards for security in the aviation sector.
A super-fast belt speed of 0,5 m/s, combined with dual-view, high quality imaging accelerates inspection times, making the hi-speed HI-SCAN 100100V-2is suitable for large-volume screening applications. It can also support heavy loads, up to 200kg (440 lbs), while its large tunnel eases handling of out of gauge baggage. It is also much smaller compared to similar systems, which is advantageous to express forwarders, mail screening and e-commerce facilities, as well as mass transit checkpoints.
Both the HI-SCAN 100100V-2is and its hi-speed model are also ECAC compliant, allowing integration into material handling systems and connectivity to centralized screening applications for increased efficiency throughout European airports. Both models can be further enhanced by iCMORE automated threat/target identification software for lithium batteries and weapons to increase security.
