In the heart of Niagara Falls, from September 22-25, 2025, the SWIFT Conference & Expo, hosted by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (YYZ), transformed the iconic destination into a hub of airfield expertise.

With 426 delegates converging at the Sheraton Fallsview from across Canada, the United States, and beyond, illustrates its growing stature and relevance to an industry navigating complex operational challenges and rapid technological advancements.

The conference kicked off with the Canadian Airfield Pavement Technical Group (CAPTG) and Complex Airfield Systems Strategy (CASS) workshops, setting the stage for the following three days of immersive sessions and hands-on demos. Delegates, representing a diverse mix of hub and regional airports, had the flexibility to tailor their experience, choosing between the Operations and Pavement Technical tracks.

On Wednesday, the expo buzzed with energy accompanied by presentations in the ‘Innovation Theatre’ from industry pioneers;  Accipiter Radar, Falcon Environmental, ICC Distribution Group, Chemco, and TKH Airfield Solutions. These sessions culminated in the crowd-favorite ‘Airside Jeopardy’, where delegates could test their airfield knowledge and win airport sponsored prizes in a lively, interactive format.

Nicholas Ingold, YOW delegate and SWIFT Committee Member, said:

It’s great to meet with like-minded individuals on the bleeding edge of airport technology and airside operations.

The Welcome Night featured a surprise performance by Toronto-based comedian Justin Shaw. This year’s Eagle Night, courtesy of headline sponsor Team Eagle, took place at the Fallsview Rooftop Pool & Bar and was a highlight with the breathtaking backdrop of Niagara Falls, while the 2025 Expo Social provided a relaxed conclusion to a full day of events.

SWIFT 2026 will be hosted by Edmonton International Airport (YEG) from September 14-17, 2026. This will be a full ‘equipment edition’ with the expo (showcasing the latest vehicles, machinery, and technologies) at the YEG airfield while conference sessions will take place downtown at The Westin.
