United Airlines has opened a new check-in lobby at Miami International Airport (MIA).

On 29 August, the airline hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to showcase the new facility. The event was attended by MIA Director and CEO, Ralph Cutié and United Airlines Miami General Manager, Hector Araujo.

The new check-in lobby at MIA is part of United’s ongoing initiative to enhance the customer travel experience.

The facility includes ten new ticket counters, 13 self-serve kiosks, and updated signage and wayfinding.

What’s more, it also features Curbside Bag Drop Shortcut, a recent time-saving offering added to the United app. This feature allows customers to check in bags on the app before arriving at the airport. Upon arrival, passengers can then skip the check-in line and drop off bags at a designated bag drop shortcut location.

With this launch, MIA is one of the first 20 stations to roll out this United Airlines product.
