Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) has opened its Concourse T-North Extension project in time for holiday travel.

The 341 million USD five-gate extension will increase the airport’s capacity to handle larger aircraft.

T-North Extension
The ribbon was cut on the T-North extension on 13 December 2022
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, said:

Adding the T North extension to our infrastructure simply strengthens our position as a global gateway. And so the extension will enhance the customer experience, so I'm happy to say that this is yet another example of how we are moving Atlanta forward together.

The T-North extension will help accommodate the increasing number of passengers at ATL, the world’s busiest airport.

It has added more than 35,000 square feet of concourse and concessions space, as well as new gate areas, boarding bridges, apron-level tenant spaces and airfield apron pavement with hydrant fuelling.

The five new Aircraft Design Group III gates — T17-T21 — have the capacity for aircraft with a wingspan between 79 and 118 feet and will primarily be used by United Airlines.
