Last week on 14 November; The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) hosted Takeoff 2025, an event held at Magic Carpet Aviation that aimed to highlight how Orlando International (MCO) and Orlando Executive (ORL) airports plan to grow and evolve over the course of the next ten years.
The event saw the attendance of business and community leaders from across Central Florida, with GOAA Board Chair Stephanie Kopelousos welcoming the audience and introducing the recently-positioned GOAA CEO Lance Lyttle, who joined the Aviation Authority in April.

Mr. Lyttle said:Building the airport of the future is more than an aspiration. It’s part of who we are. It’s the essence of our work and the spirit that guides every decision we make.
It means being smarter, more sustainable, and more connected. It means creating places where technology and hospitality work hand in hand to serve people better. It’s about moving from function to experience, from infrastructure to inspiration.
The event was also host to Netflix Co-Founder & Former CEO Marc Randolph, who acted as the guest speaker before sitting down with Mr. Lyttle for an extended Q&A session.
Also discussed at the event was a selection of initiatives GOAA intends to focus on during the next five to 10 years, including the construction of a reputation for hospitality, the creation of seamless journeys for travellers, the journey to obtain a 5-star Skytrax airport rating, the strengthening of partnerships and expansion of opportunities via the development of new cargo facilities, advancement of plans for an FAA-approved on-airport Advanced Air Mobility vertiport by 2030, the modernisation of Terminals A and B and the expansion of Terminal C, amongst other plans and projects.
