Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) has introduced two new Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) trucks for use at the airport.

The purchase of the vehicles was made possible due to a 3 million USD federal funding grant made as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Airport Infrastructure Grant programme.

Each of the units is equipped with a 4,500-gallon water tank, as well as advanced thermal imaging technology and a 65-foot high-reach extendable turret, which allows for the performance of  duties related to larger aircraft.

The new fleet is also outfitted with flourine-free foam (F3), aligning with FAA guidelines and mitigating PFAS contamination risks.

Senator Rosen said:

Harry Reid International is the beating heart of Nevada’s travel and tourism economy. When visitors fly into Las Vegas — whether it’s for fun or for business — they expect and deserve nothing less than a safe and secure experience.

I am so proud to announce yet another new critical investment in the safety of the airport, its passengers, and its infrastructure with the arrival of brand-new Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles.
