AutoFlight has received a Validated Type Certificate (VTC) from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for its V2000CG CarryAll cargo electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The validation allows the unmanned cargo eVTOL to begin commercial operations in Indonesia. This marks the first time an eVTOL aircraft has obtained type certificate validation from a foreign aviation authority outside its home market.

The V2000CG previously received a Type Certificate (TC) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in March 2024 after completing flight testing and airworthiness assessments in China.
AutoFlight submitted its Indonesian validation application in July 2025. According to the company, the review process included comparisons between Chinese and Indonesian airworthiness standards, technical consultations, documentation assessments and inspections carried out in China by Indonesian aviation officials.
The DGCA concluded that the aircraft met Indonesia’s applicable airworthiness requirements, allowing the type certificate to be validated for use in the country.
The V2000CG is an unmanned cargo aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 2,000kg. It uses a fully electric lift-and-cruise design, enabling vertical take-off and landing without the need for conventional runway infrastructure.
AutoFlight believes these characteristics could support logistics operations across Indonesia, an archipelago of more than 17,000 islands where transport links between communities often depend on maritime services and conventional aviation networks.
The aircraft has a stated cruise speed of 200km/h and a range of up to 200km. Potential applications include the transport of medical supplies, emergency equipment, agricultural products and other time-sensitive cargo between islands and remote locations.
The V2000CG has already been used in demonstration and operational projects in China, including offshore logistics, island supply missions and emergency response activities.
Type certification is a key regulatory requirement for commercial aircraft. A Type Certificate confirms that an aircraft design complies with the airworthiness standards of the issuing authority. A Validated Type Certificate extends recognition of that approval to another jurisdiction after its regulator has reviewed the design against local requirements.
The Indonesian approval provides a pathway for commercial deployment of the V2000CG in Southeast Asia and represents a further step in the certification and operational development of cargo eVTOL aircraft.
