The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced it will be awarding 243.7 million USD under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law during the 2024 Fiscal Year.
The funding will include a 150 grants across 37 US states, which will predominantly go toward the modernisation of airport infrastructure, improvement of runway safety and create jobs within the industry.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, said:We saw a record number of passengers fly during the recent holiday season, and we can expect increased demand for air travel to continue.

Among the grants awarded, projects will be set in motion to reconfigure taxiways to provide a simpler layout to avoid confusion, install new lighting systems and provide further flexibility on airfields.
