CLT to Open West Terminal Lobby Expansion

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) has announced that portions of its Terminal Lobby Expansion project will open on the facility’s west side on 27 July 2022.

This is the first phase of CLT’s Terminal Lobby Expansion project to open to passengers. The area will provide approximately 90,000 square feet of additional circulation space and access to the airport’s new west subterranean walkway

The facility also features large windows, terrazzo flooring and detailed ceilings.

Construction on the Terminal Lobby Expansion project is scheduled for completion in 2025 as part of the airport’s 3.1 billion USD Destination CLT programme.

Following this initial opening, work will begin on renovating the Departures/Ticketing and Arrivals/Baggage Claim areas at the end of this month. Customer amenities will include modern ticket counters, three large security checkpoints and five pre-security concession spaces.
