Fraport Brasil SA Aeroporto de Fortaleza has been awarded the concession to operate the passenger terminal as well as other landside and airside infrastructure at Jericoacoara Airport (JJD), Brazil.
The concession was awarded following a public tender in São Paulo, with Fraport Brasil expected to take over management of the airport from autumn 2026.

Awarded under the Brazilian government’s AmpliAR programme, which aims to integrate regional airports into existing concessions; the contract is set to be signed in spring 2026, with Jericoacoara Airport subsequently becoming part of the existing concession for Fortaleza Airport.
The contract term itself corresponds to the remaining term of the Fortaleza Airport concession and ends in 2047.
The group company has thus far committed to investments in the modernisation of Jericoacoara Airport during the first three years of its management.
Dr. Stefan Schulte, CEO of Fraport AG,, said:We are delighted to further expand our commitment in Brazil and, together with our experienced team, to actively shape the development of Jericoacoara Airport and to sustainably promote tourism in Ceará.
