Liberty Defense has announced the sale of its HEXWAVE security portal for an international airport in the Philippines. This marks the first time that its system will be deployed at an international airport in Asia Pacific.
Under this contract, deployment is scheduled for summer of 2024. The screening will take place at the forecourt of the terminal to screen people upon their initial entrance.
HEXWAVE uses AI-based detection to protect secure locations against prohibited weapons and threats. This walk-through, contactless system identifies concealed metallic and non-metallic objects and provides automated decisions to security operators to efficiently process people.
Bill Frain, CEO of Liberty Defense said:We continue to see an increase in demand from airports on a global basis for enhanced screening at various checkpoints and entrances. In addition to screening for aviation workers, airports are taking advantage of HEXWAVE’s mobility and scanning individuals as they enter the terminal as part of an added and layered security approach.
The company began shipping HEXWAVE to customers in September 2023 and has now received orders for over 30 systems.
