London Stansted has completed a 12 million GBP (14.5m USD) refurbishment of its international departure lounge.
The upgraded facility aims to improve the customer experience during the busy summer holiday period, with more than five million passengers departing from London Stansted in July and August.
To prepare for this influx, London Stansted’s international departure lounge now offers additional seating, as well as new bars, restaurants and retail outlets.
The renovation project was announced in March 2022 and has been completed on time.
Stephen Martin, London Stansted’s Retail Director, said:We are delighted to have teamed up with our retail partners to bring these amazing concepts to the airport. It is an exciting time for London Stansted and the new outlets significantly enhance the departure lounge experience. The £12 million investment has enabled us to deliver a range of food, beverage and retail outlets tailored to our passengers' needs, which will undoubtedly improve their journey through the airport.
It's great to see so many passengers back at London Stansted, and although we’re going to be very busy over the peak summer months, passengers can look forward to a range of new bars, restaurants and retail outlets and a better overall experience in the departure lounge.
The facility’s new dining options include Comptoir Libanais, Terracotta Italian Kitchen, The Perch, Sunnyside Café, Bottega Bar and Caffè and Caffè Nero.
In addition, new Lego, Tommy Hilfiger, Superdry, Discover Gourmet and WHSmith stores have opened, and the World Duty-Free shop has doubled in size.
