The Upper Silesian Aviation Group has announced that Katowice Wojciech Korfanty International Airport (KTW) saw the highest number of passengers in its history during 2024.

Over the course of the year, KTW airport served nearly 6.39 million passengers, with over 362,000 passengers passing through the airport in December alone.

The airport reached its milestone in November of 2024

The airport saw an overall passenger increase of 13.9% over 2023’s numbers, with travellers using both the airport’s network of regular and charter flights in great numbers.

Of the operators travelling in and out of the airport, Wizz Air, Rynair, LOT Polish Airlines and Air Dolomiti handled a total of 3,11,460 passengers, up 5.4% on 2023.

Artur Tomasik, President of the Board of the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL SA), said:

Last year was record-breaking for Katowice Airport. The act of handling, for the first time ever, six million passengers in a calendar year is a significant milestone in the development process of Katowice Airport.

We wish to thank every passenger who travelled from Katowice Airport on flights offered by regular and charter air carriers. We expect further growth of traffic in 2025. There is much to suggest that we may handle seven million passengers.
