The surface of terminal B increased by 40% from 12.2k sq. m to 17.2k sq. m.

Most important changes introduced under the investment:

  • The surface of terminal B increased by 40% from 12.2k sq. m to 17.2k sq. m.
  • Check-in area and security control area are separated by a floor. Resultantly, the number of check-in desks increased from 18 to 28.
  • Departures hall is bigger; now it is located on three floors. Number of boarding gates increased from 10 to 16.
  • New “heart” of terminal B, i.e. the transport, security control and sorting of checked baggage system. It is equipped with two modern security control devices (CT scanners), thanks to which it is possible to receive a detailed, tridimensional view of the scanned baggage. The new baggage room is equipped with a tray sorter (76 trays) with a tilting system and 12 baggage chutes. Throughput of the system is 1 885 pieces of baggage per hour.
  • The throughput of terminal B increased from 2 to 4 million passengers yearly. End of the investment also contributed towards a considerable improvement of the throughput of the airport’s entire terminal infrastructure, which consists of terminals A (Non-Schengen flights), B (Schengen flights) and C (Schengen and Non-Schengen arrivals). After the end of the investment, it increased from 6 to 8 million passengers yearly. The surface of all terminals also changed: from 29k sq. m. to 34k sq. m.
