UrbanV and Japan Airport Consultants (JAC) have established a new, long-term framework that aims to support the planning, design, regulatory integration and commercialisation of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) infrastructures and services.
The framework will seek to establish AAM in both Japan and selected international locations, with the first initiative set to focus on the Tokyo Metropolitan Area project, where UrbanV will act as strategic technical partner of JAC within a consortium led by Japan Airlines, together with Archer Aviation and other key industry stakeholders in the aviation and airport sectors.

This project represents a step toward the structured development of AAM in one of the world’s most complex and dynamic urban environments.
The agreement aims to establish a flexible framework for joint Research & Development initiatives and consulting, enabling long-term vision and collaboration.
Japan Airport has committed to bringing its long-standing leadership in airport development, as well as its understanding of the Japanese aviation ecosystem; whilst UrbanV will support public and private stakeholders by providing international benchmarking and cross-border knowledge transfer, aligning local AAM initiatives with emerging global standards and regulatory frameworks, including EASA, FAA and ICAO best practices.
Ivan Bassato, Chairman of UrbanV, said:Japan is globally recognized for its leadership in technology and innovation. We are honored to enter this market through a solid and long-term partnership with Japan Airport Consultants, a trusted local leader.
As UrbanV begins its journey in the Japanese ecosystem, we look forward to contributing international experience, innovation and sustainable solutions to the future of mobility in Japan and beyond.
