HysetCo has opened a high-capacity hydrogen refuelling station at Paris-Orly Airport. The new site increases the airport’s hydrogen distribution capacity by six, now reaching 1 ton per day.

The development replaces the airport’s original hydrogen station, launched in 2017. It serves as a strategic hub for professional and high-frequency users such as taxi operators. The project is part of HysetCo’s broader network of eight hydrogen stations across the Île-de-France region and is supported by Groupe ADP, the French government, the Île-de-France Region, and the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Transport programme.

Paris-Orly’s location, adjacent to key mobility corridors, makes it a central point for decarbonisation in urban transport. Access roads to the airport are responsible for up to 30% of its non-flight-related carbon emissions. The new station contributes directly to Paris-Orly’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality for internal operations by 2025 and net-zero ground emissions by 2030.

HysetCo currently operates the world’s largest hydrogen vehicle fleet, with 800 vehicles in service. The company plans to expand this number fivefold over the next five years, focusing on light commercial vehicles.

Loïc Voisin, President of HysetCo said:

Multiplying our hydrogen distribution capacity at Orly by six is a major milestone in our mission to offer a zero-emission mobility solution that is comprehensive, consistent, and accessible to all. Today, HysetCo operates 800 hydrogen vehicles, the world’s largest hydrogen fleet and we plan to multiply this figure by five within the next five years, particularly in the fast-growing segment of light commercial vehicles.

The station’s inauguration marks a milestone in public-private cooperation on clean mobility infrastructure. It aligns with regional and EU priorities to scale up low-carbon transport and foster energy transition through reliable hydrogen ecosystems.

Valérie Pécresse, President of the Île-de-France Region said:

The opening of the Orly hydrogen refuelling station, the 14th facility financed by the Region, marks a new milestone in building a network across the territory, essential for the growth of clean mobility. It complements the Region’s major investments in this area : 100% decarbonised public transport by 2025, the creation of the Vélo Île-de-France cycling network, and since 2020, support for the installation of 5,000 electric charging points by local municipalities. Île-de-France is a strategic region for the deployment of green and low-carbon hydrogen, particularly because hydrogen can play a key role in the production of sustainable aviation fuels.
