Heathrow, UK – Jewers Doors has successfully completed a major installation project at British Airways’ Fleet Support Unit (FSU) at Heathrow Airport, one of the world’s busiest airports.
The project involved the supply and installation of two sets of Esavian 126-SBR power-operated hangar doors, each comprising 10 equal leaves, with 10 installed on the north side and 10 on the south side of the hangar.
Each door leaf measures 9 metres wide, 89 metres high, and weighs approximately 17.5 tonnes. The scale of the project required bespoke design and precise engineering, underscoring Jewers Doors’ ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and high-performance solutions for the aviation sector.
The removal of the existing hangar doors and installation of the new systems presented a significant logistical challenge, particularly within the operational constraints of Heathrow Airport.
