JFK T8 Innovation Partners Offers Retail Space for Local Businesses

JFK T8 Innovation Partners has announced it is looking to offer a set of local retail businesses a space within their airport marketplace as part of a 125 million USD commercial programme.

The test, which is being conducted at John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 8, is offering one of two 175 sq. ft. spaces within Terminal 8 through its Local Small Business Retail Accelerator programme, with businesses located in Southeast Queens, Greater Queens, the NYC Metro Area and the NY Regional Area given priority with Requests for Proposals (RFP).

The scheme is being developed in partnership with partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and American Airlines

The Accelerator programme offers local retail businesses a simple, flexible deal when procuring a storefront, reducing upfront and design costs as well as providing pre-ready retail spaces.

Ashley Hari, URW Director of Leasing, said:

“Through our concessions outreach sessions, we have been helping small, local businesses and entrepreneurs prepare for the chance to operate in T8 and are thrilled to announce this first opportunity.

“The Queens community has always been at the forefront of our T8 vision. To be able to move forward and start getting these businesses in place and help them succeed is very exciting. We can’t wait to hear from this vibrant community.”

Predominantly, T8 Partners is on the lookout for businesses specialising in the following markets:

  • Kids/Baby
  • Beauty
  • Health & Personal Care
  • Home
  • Household Essentials
  • Pets
  • Toys
  • Accessories
  • Clothing or Entertainment
  • Services
  • Pre-Packaged: Foods, Confection, Gifts

Due to regulations set out by the Department of Health, businesses handling fresh food, food preparation and beverages are not eligible for applications.

Businesses will need to have experience of at least three-years of operation, and offer their wares direct-to-consumer via online stores. They must have a limited brick-and-mortar presence.

The deadline for all proposals is 16 February 2024.
