John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) in Columbus, Ohio has awarded First Transit with a transportation shuttle contract to serve the airport’s rental car facility, which opened in September 2021.

CMH has purchased three electric shuttle buses and three F-650 propane-fuelled shuttle buses to form a six-vehicle fleet. First Transit is also providing the airport with 30 employees, including management personnel to oversee the daily transit operations.

Nine rental car companies operate at CMH’s new consolidated rental car facility, which operates year round. The new shuttle service will make it more convenient for passengers to access the rental companies.

First Transit already operates 15 airport shuttles across the US and is therefore well versed in the requirements of this type of service.

John Mathews, Senior Vice President for First Transit, said:

We are proud to partner with CMH to enhance the rental car experience for passengers. Our primary goal is to provide efficient and safe transportation for passengers traveling to and from the main terminal.
