KLM has taken delivery of its first A350-900, marking the introduction of the latest generation widebody for long-haul operations as part of the airline’s ongoing fleet renewal.

Currently, KLM operates an Airbus fleet of ten A330 Family aircraft and seventeen A321neos, with the new A350 set to enter operation on long-haul routes from its home base in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to destinations such as Toronto in a bid to strengthen the airline’s global network.

With capacity for up to 331 seated passengers in a three-class layout, the A350 offers 34 Business Class suites with direct aisle access, 26 Premium Comfort seats, and 271 Economy seats.

The aircraft is also equipped with a large Airspace cabin, which has been designed to improve long-haul experiences for both passengers and crew through enhanced ergonomics and greater comfort, whilst also providing a larger luggage capacity, advanced ambient lighting, and high-speed satellite connectivity.

As of the end of August 2026, the A350 Family has received over 1,620 orders from a total of 69 customers worldwide.
