Passengers will soon be able to catch a direct flight from Barcelona to Rovaniemi following a joint announcement from Finavia & Norwegian.
The new service, which is set to launch for the winter season on 03 December 2025 and continue until mid-February 2026, will see flights departing from Rovaniemi Airport on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The announcement of the new service was made in the midst of celebrations commemorating Norwegian’s fifteenth year of operations within Finland, with the airline offering 23 direct flight connections from Helsinki Airport to a number of European destinations this summer.

Kimmo Mäki, Finavia’s CEO, said:We want to congratulate Norwegian on its 15 years of operations in Finland. Norwegian has been a significant operator both at Helsinki Airport and in Finland’s airport network, in which connections will be further improved next winter.
We are pleased with our strong cooperation with Norwegian and wish them continued success in the years to come.
Following the introduction of the new route, Norwegian will officially begin to operate four routes from Rovaniemi Airport with services to London, Munich and Helsinki already in operation.
Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian, said:We are grateful to our customers for the fantastic years we have had in Finland. During our time in the Finnish market, we have successfully introduced new routes between Finland and various international destinations, and we plan to continue on this positive path of development in the coming years.
Today, we are launching a new route from Rovaniemi to Barcelona and, in the summer, from Helsinki to Malta and Bucharest.
