Construction is now underway on Tampa International Airport’s (TPA) Red Express Curbsides building as part of its Main Terminal expansion project.

The structure, which is being built in space previously occupied by the airport’s former 1970s-era Administration Building, is set to replicate TPA’s award-winning Blue Express Curbsides building on the Main Terminal’s south side.

Foundations for eight new traffic lanes are nearing completion, with the associated ramps currently being constructed.

Construction on the Red Express Curbsides building has included the installation of steel beams to facilitate the future 2028 construction of a connection to Airside D, which is still in the design phase.

The new airside will feature 16 gates, both domestic and international, a new lounge space, new screening and security systems, modern restaurants, retail outlets and more.

The Main Terminal Expansion, including the Red Express Curbsides development, is set to be completed by Autumn of 2025.
