The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) Board has commenced the process to refurbish interior areas at Terminals A and B of Orlando International Airport (MCO).
To pave the way for this work, two Requests for Statements of Qualifications (RSQ) will be issued for the refurbishment of the interiors at Airsides 1 & 3 and of Levels 1 & 2 of the terminals.
These projects follow major renovation works at the airport’s Main Terminal, which were completed in 2018. This included the expansion and modernisation of the Level 3 ticket lobbies, the expansion of facilities at Airside 4, the replacement of the Airsides 1 & 3 Automated People Mover systems, and the addition of the North Cell Phone Lot.
The completion of Terminal C was then achieved in 2022.
Now, GOAA plans to bring the remaining facilities up to an enhanced standard.
The scope of the RSQs will cover the design and construction of Landside and Airside interior refurbishments. This will include all associated systems and regulatory requirements, new flooring, new wall finishes, and new ceilings and lighting.
Each project has an estimated value of 20 million USD.
