The Bucharest National Airports Company has officially begun work on the implementation of a new bus station at Henri Coandă Airport.
An announcement was made by the company following the completion of a tender for the acquisition of feasibility studies for the ‘development of transport infrastructure for passenger boarding/disembarking station at AIHCB’ – the station in question.

Currently undergoing a period of modernisation; Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport has seen a steep increase in passengers arriving from other localities, many of which are utilising minibuses, buses or coaches. The implementation of a dedicated bus station is hoped to provide the necessary support structure to accommodate this growing number of passengers, and within 60 days, CNAB will receive the feasibility study – signalling the commencement of construction.
Specifically designated for road passenger transport operators; the intended site area stands at approximately 4,300 square metres, and is located within the vicinity of the departures terminal.
Once operational, the bus station will allow for quick access to the passenger parking lot, and serve a minimum of 6 coaches, 15 minibuses and 2 buses. It will also include dedicated spaces for waiting vehicles, and come equipped with a waiting room.
Vehicle access will be managed through automatic systems, including barriers with license plate readers, electronic displays of available spaces and a video surveillance system.
