San Antonio International Airport (SAT) has celebrated the grand opening of its new Terminal A expansion, which aims to support both domestic and international operations.
The new expansion will also add new ground-load gates, passenger areas and a federal inspection station for international arrivals.

Allowing SAT to increase operational capacity; the new ground load facility will allow passengers to board aircraft at ground level instead of using jet bridges, as well as enable SAT to both accommodate more aircraft and move passengers through Terminal A in a more efficient manner.
Added capacity will support airlines in their expansion of services to and from SAT, driving overall operational growth and aiding the airport in its goal to keep up with the San Antonio region’s rising demand for air travel.
Jesus Saenz, IAP, Director of Airports said:This expansion is building a bridge to the future and reflects our commitment to meeting the growing demand for air travel while continuing to deliver a world-class experience for passengers, airlines and our community.
The expansion of Terminal A is just one step in a broader vision, one that will transform the face of our city and our region. It represents a meaningful investment in our community, ensuring that we are positioning San Antonio for a strong and successful future in air travel.
SAT’s Terminal A expansion forms part of a larger plan for both growth and momentum at the airport, as well as a key component of ELEVATE/SAT, a wider infrastructure development initiative that looks to expand travel opportunities, accommodate increasing passenger demand and strengthen San Antonio’s regional economy.
